Intellectual & Developmental Care Services

Providing Quality Intellectual Care and Developmental Care  Services in Arkansas

About Our Intellectual & Developmental Care Services

Just as important as in-home and personal care, intellectual and developmental care also plays a crucial role in helping individuals live as independently as possible. We realize this here at Southern Caregivers, which is why we are committed to making this an important component of our treatment plan with each client. While these tasks may not be considered essential for life itself, they do go far in helping clients maintain their sense of independence for as long as possible.

Focusing on such areas as housekeeping, shopping, laundry, medication reminders, transportation, food preparation, and ability to use telephones and technology, our team members help clients gain and maintain as many skills as possible in these areas.

Will my Care Worker Help Me Run Errands?

If a client wants to maintain their ability to go out within their community, we will work closely with them to ensure they can utilize public or private transportation on their own. In addition, we can work with them to make sure they can not only shop for such basics as medications, clothing, and food, but also stay side-by-side with them in helping them plan and then cook their meals.

Yet to do many of these tasks successfully and maintain their strong sense of independence, clients must be able to properly manage their finances. As seniors and other individuals with physical or developmental issues are regularly targeted by scam artists, this is of extreme concern to clients and their families. Here at Southern Caregivers, we also include financial management skills in our intellectual and developmental care treatment area. By working with our clients, we can make sure they have the proper knowledge and skills required to keep their finances in order. By helping our clients maintain their skills or learn new ones, we help set the stage for future success.
