  • In what areas are your services available?

We are licensed to service clients anywhere in Arkansas; however, we try to stay around 60 miles from each of our locations to better serve our clients. We have offices in Magnolia, Hot Springs, Searcy, Texarkana, De Queen, Conway, Jonesboro, and NW Arkansas (Springdale/Bentonville). If you are unsure if we cover your area, feel free to reach out via email or phone and we would be happy to clarify for you!

  • What kind of services do you provide?

We provide In-Home Personal Care Services. Often times, we are confused with "Home Health". Typically, "Home Health" Services are skilled care. Although we are owned and operated by Registered Nurses, we provide "NO SKILL". Our agency is strictly "Non-skilled". Examples of skilled care might include things such as medication management, wound care, IV therapy, Physical Therapy, etc. Specific services that we perform in the home would be bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, assistance with feeding, assistance with mobility/transfers, medication reminders, light housekeeping, companionship, running errands, etc. If you need help with something specific that isn't listed here, feel free to call or email us today to clarify if we can help out! We will make every effort to help and accommodate your needs.

  • How do I know if my loved one needs in-home care?

If you notice a health decline in your loved one. If your loved one has had an increase in falls. If you begin to notice that they are unable to provide basic care needs for themselves like they were once able to. Some red flags could be a decline in their ability to care for themselves such as loss of weight, forgetting to eat, unkempt/unclean clothing, no bathing or brushing their teeth, missing appointments, forgetting to take their medications, a decline in housekeeping, laundry piling up, etc. We can gladly help out with any of these. Give us a call today!

  • How quickly can I arrange for service?

With our dedicated team of nurses and caregivers, we can work as quickly as possible to provide care services. We understand the urgency of some circumstances and do our best to have patients visited and cared for within 24 hours.

  • What makes Southern Caregivers different from other in-home care companies?

For one, we are owned and operated by all Registered Nurses. Each of the owners has personally had a situation where they have had to care for their own families at some point. They know what it takes to provide phenomenal care and expect nothing short of excellence from their own staff and caregivers. Their business is truly personal, and they want each of their clients cared for "Like their Own Family". We also make every effort to keep the same caregivers in the home when appropriate, to ensure continuity of care and client comfort. We carefully and thoughtfully match caregivers with our clients – If a client ever that a particular caregiver is not a good march, we listen and work to make a better suited match based on the clients' feedback. At the end of the day, we know that this care should be personalized to fit the specific needs of the client.

  • What are the advantages of home care?

In-Home Care allows individuals to "Age in Place" from the comfort of their own home, wherever that may be. In-Home Care also gives families, case manager, physicians, and other medical professionals a piece of mind that their client or loved ones are safe and receiving the necessary care to remain independent as possible in their home.

  • Who can receive in-home care?

In-Home Care is available to any individual who is in need of care. We provide care to all ages, pediatrics to the elderly and anyone in between. No matter their age, if they are an individual that would benefit from extra assistance in their home, we are here to help.

  • Are your services available in nursing homes or assisted living facilities?

Of course, at times, there could be specific stipulations related to insurances, but we are happy to provide care in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, assisted living housing, independent senior living, etc. If you have questions or need specific clarification on if we can provide care somewhere, feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to help.

  • What if my caregiver is sick and cannot make it to my house?

Caregivers, like all of us, are human. They experience emergencies, illnesses, vacations, and other reasons that may come up along the way that could cause them to miss work. It happens – no worries! In the event that your assigned caregiver is unavailable, our scheduling staff will happily find a replacement caregiver to cover the shift or contact you to discuss alternative options.

  • Will my insurance pay for my services?

This is one of our most asked questions! It just depends on what type of insurance you have. The best answer for this is to call are office with your insurance information and let us check it and go from there to be certain.

  • What insurance do you accept?

We accept Qualifying Medicaid, Arkansas Choices (Medicaid Waiver), Veteran's Affairs, Veteran's Home Care/Vet Assist, PASSE, and Long-Term Insurance Policies.

  • Do you accept private pay for services?

Yes, we do. We do have a minimum of three hours per visit no matter which location you are serviced from. The hourly rate will vary depending on which location you are serviced from. Feel free to call us and we will gladly get you a quote for your area!

  • Will Medicare or Medicare Supplements pay for my services?

Unfortunately, Medicare does not pay for our services. They will pay for "Skilled Care", which is typically Home Health, but we have not yet come across them ever paying for our services. WE WISH THEY WOULD - there are so many individuals that could benefit from these services if they would!

  • What if I am on Home Health or Hospice Services, but also need In-Home Personal Care?

We work very closely with local Home Health and Hospice Agencies. We are able to still service clients even if they are on Home Health or Hospice Services. The best thing to do is to give us a call and we will work out the details and do our best to get services going for you!
